School Board Approves New Policies:
The School Board approved two new Policies at their November 11, School Board mtg. Policy 526 - Personnel Records and Policy 528 - Staff-Student Relations had their second and final readings that evening.
2012-13 DPI District and School Report Cards Released
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released the 2012-13 District and School Report card information for the Pittsville School District on September 17. The District, Elementary School, and High School reports for all public schools in the state. The High School received an Exceeds Expectation rating and the Elementary and District received a rating of Meets expectations. All three ratingsFinal Budget and Tax Levy Approvedlast years scores.
Final Approval made for the 2013-14 Budget and tax levy
The Pittsville School Board held a special meeting to make make final approval of the 2013-14 budget and certify the tax levy for the District. The Board approved a a budet of $8,094,233.53 which is a 1.11% increase over last year's budget. The total tax levy for the District was approved at $2,980,710.00. which equates to a -11.51 decrease from last year. The mil rate is $9.75 compared to last years rate of $11.51 (30 year tax rate history). One item to note: The approved 2013-14 budget has a recognized deficit of $59,221 of anticipated expenditures over revenues coming in.
ACT Testing Report Released
The Pittsville School District received their ACT testing results from the 2012-13 School Year. The ACT testing is a measurement that is an indication of the extent to which the students are prepared for college-level work. The ACT consists of curriculum-based tests of educational development in English, mathematics, reading, and science designed to measure the skills needed for success in first year college coursework. Pittsville again exceeded the State Average in composite score with their 22.3 score compared to the state average of 22.1
