|Pittsville Wrestling Club Receives Friends of Pittsville School Award
The Pittsville Wrestling Booster Club received the Friends of Pittsville School Award from the Pittsville Board of Education for their donation of new competition wrestling mats to the district. Booster Club member Michelle Kauth stated, "Over 52 community and business members made donations to raise the over $16,000 for the new mats. We also had a successful fundraiser dinner. In addition, Gardner Trucking donated the truck and driver to pick up the mats from Pennsylvania." The previous competition mats will be used for practice. Fastening the practice mats purchased in 1972 to the walls for added safety is being looked into. Board President Mandy Hoogesteger stated, "We commend and thank all the members of the wrestling booster club for their hard work and dedication to our district. It is groups like this that make our community and school great."

School Board Members Jane Wesely and Bob Wolff Honored
Pittsville School Board Members Janes Wesely and Bob Wolff were recognized by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) for their commitment to the students and staff of the Pittsville School District. Wolff and Wesely earned this recognition by attending professional opportunites by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards and/or the National School Boards Association focused on student achievement and improving public education. WASB Executive Director John Ashley recognized Wolff and Wesely 's accomplishments at a WASB Regional Meeting this fall. "I commend Bob and Jane for their efforst to improve educational opportunities for the young people in the community and to diligently work at ensuring an effective governing body," said Ashley. "I thank them for their work on behalf of public education in Wisconsin." Jane is a fifteen year member of the Pittsville Board of Education and Bob is completing his third year. Congratulations to both for their commitment and dedication to the students and staff of the Pittsville School District.
