Board Accepts Resignations
The Pittsville School Board approved two resignations at their May 11, School Board meeting. Jeff Gast announced his plans to retire after 31 years serving the District as their Finance Director. Mr. Gast will end his work with the District on July 31. The Board also approved the resignation of first grade teacher, Kay Hautala, who left the District on April 30. The Board expressed thanked both employees for their dedicated service to the Pittsville School District.
Board Approves Teachers for 2015-16 School Year
The School Board approved the hiring of Abigail Brown (HS English), Jacob Pascoe (Middle School Teacher), and Jodi Moore (First Grade) as teachers for the 2015-16 School Year. All three teachers will begin their employment in the District in August.
Board Approves Education Budget Resolution
The Pittsville School Board approved a resolution regarding the 2015-7 State Budget and school funding proposals at their April 13, School Board meeting. The resolution will be sent to Governor Scott Walker, Sen. Julie Lassa, and Rep. Nancy VanderMeer. The resolution is a response to the proposed State Budget which inadequately funds public schools. Pittsville stands to lose $136,000 in educational funding if Governor Walker's budget is approved.
School Board approves 2016-17 School Calendar
The Pittsville School Board approved the 2016-17 School Calendar. The calendar has students starting on September 1, and ending the school year on May 26.
