School District Accountability Report
As an academic institution, we continually look for ways to better serve our students and families. The school report card is one resource that can allow us to reflect upon our strengths and areas for improvement. The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is required by state statute (Wis. Stat. 115.385) to generate school and district report cards for every publicly funded school and district in the state. These reports are intended to help schools and districts use performance data to celebrate success and identify areas for improvement.
These report cards include data on multiple indicators for multiple years across four priority areas (Achievement, Growth, Target Group Outcomes, and On-track to Graduation). Based on its score, a school or district receives a rating from Fails to Meet Expectations to Significantly Exceeds Expectations.
The School District of Pittsville received a rating from the state of Exceeds Expectations based on last school year’s data. Pittsville High School also received a rating of Exceeds Expectations and PES one of Meets Expectations. The PSD was one of only 19 school districts in the State that moved up one rating category from last year. This growth is to be acknowledged and celebrated, however we remain committed to analyzing this and other data in order to identify and be responsive to additional areas for growth. We want to share these results with you because they help illuminate some of our successes and help pinpoint areas of focus in our district. PSD’s improved rating demonstrates that our students are learning and achieving more, which will lead to additional opportunities for them in the future! Another component that we are extremely proud of that is not included in our rating is the number of students in the PSD earning industry and other certifications prior to graduation. Approximately 50 percent of graduating students at PHS earn at least one certification.
The PSD has a phenomenal staff who care deeply about our students and will continue to shape career and college ready students through excellence in academics, athletics, the fine arts, and student leadership experiences. We are so very fortunate and proud to have these exceptional educators working with our students and families!
