Meet the District Administrator
WELCOME TO THE PITTSVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Students come first in Pittsville. It is my pleasure to be part of an amazing team of educators who serve the community’s most important resource, our children. One of the first things people who visit here notice (after the excellent facilities) is the high level of respect students and staff have for each other and guests. It is possible to “know” everyone in our learning community and this level of relationship grows as the year progresses. Pittsville School District facilities are modern, well maintained, and provide many learning and entertainment opportunities for our students and community.
Even with an enrollment just below 600 students, we are able to offer educational programs including Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, and articulated courses just as much larger districts do. We are an invested member of the Rural Virtual Academy virtual school and have partnerships with other schools and colleges through our Distance Learning Lab. Our small size is leveraged to be an advantage for students due to the personal teaching and learning opportunities in every class.
Healthy, caring relationships with our students have always been a priority in Pittsville - just ask the custodian who may be asked to help tie a kindergartner's shoe before recess because they happen to be in the hall together, or the bus drivers who are transporting their grandchildren to and from school every day.
With community support, we have just completed construction of a 25,000 square foot state of the art Career and Technical Education facility. The new mini-technical college complements our nationally recognized CTE Academy. In each of the last 4 years, just under 50% of our graduates have earned at least one industry recognized certification prior to graduation. All students complete a Senior Capstone Internship for a minimum of 12 weeks with one of our 85 business partners from around central Wisconsin. Many of the Internships are paid and all are valuable experiences in preparation for their future.
The district operates a fully licensed child care with before and after school care available, maintains exercise facilities accessible to our community, and has a modern theater to support concerts and performances year round.
Pittsville is a community school with big district opportunities for our students.
