Wisconsin's 20 special observance days are part of state statutes governing general school operations. Federal law has moved the celebration of many legal holidays to Monday, however, state law recommends that each Wisconsin Observance Day be held on the day itself. When an observance day falls on a Saturday or Sunday during the school year, it should be observed on the preceding Friday or the following Monday. SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS
If weather conditions are such that the school schedule may be interrupted, notification of cancellations, delays, or early dismissals will be made through the Pittsville School District Instant Alert System and the stations listed below. Parents should have an emergency plan for dealing with these situations for the safety and health of their children. Do not drop children off early at school on mornings when school is to be delayed, as there will not be supervision available until about 20 minutes prior to the delayed start of the school day.
